Drew Struzan - Composition Study

These week we took a look at Drew Struzan, known for many classic and incredible movie posters. We specifically looked at his poster composition, here's a mood board of some of his posters:

Cannon High Poly First Pass - Metal

This week we needed to complete the high poly pass of one of the pieces of the cannon, specifically either the metal or the wood. I went with the metal here, and weathered it, along with adding some cracks, and welding along some seams.

Frank Frazetta - Value Study

This week we studied Frank Frazetta, and value studies using his drawings. We were to choose one of his linework pieces, and develop light values and shading for the piece.

Here I have my board of some works he had done:

Creating A Level in Unreal Engine

In Tech Art, in order to get accustomed to source control through Perforce, and Unreal Engine, we were to set up a scene and push the assets and level to Perforce.

I set up my scene using a series of asset packs, including a scene we were given called the Bumping Pub, Advanced Village, Ancient Treasures, Dynamic Grass System, Good Sky, and Chameleon.

Here are some shots from the scene:

And finally, we were required to use at least one asset from the bumping pub. The treasure found at the end of the dock is... Toast!

Cannon Week 2 - UVs and Increasing Resolution

For our 3D Modeling assignment this week, we were to UV our cannon, all on the same UV set, and increase the resolution of the mesh. After doing this, we were to import it into ZBrush, just to show we can get it there.

Here I have my UVs:
